What are P-1000 (bioflavonoids)?

Bioflavonoids are found in the rind of green citrus fruits and in rose hips and black currants.

There is no established need for bioflavonoids in human nutrition. Bioflavonoids have been used historically in a variety of disease states including Rheumatic fever, habitual abortion, poliomyelitis, prevention of bleeding, rheumatoid arthritis, periodontal disease, diabetic retinitis, and others.

Bioflavonoids may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.

What is the most important information I should know about P-1000 (bioflavonoids)?

Do not take more bioflavonoids than is directed by your doctor or on the package.

Swallow each nonchewable dose (tablets and capsules) with a full glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break the sustained-release formulations of bioflavonoids, swallow them whole. These are specially formulated to release slowly into the body. Do not take more bioflavonoids than is directed by your doctor or on the package. Store bioflavonoids at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

What happens if I miss a dose?
